The TCF board has agreed to adopt the UK Trusted Mobile Payments Framework (UK TMPF), which was developed to provide consumers with a safe and trustworthy way to pay for low-cost services on their mobile phone.

The TCF board has agreed to adopt the UK Trusted Mobile Payments Framework (UK TMPF), which was developed to provide consumers with a safe and trustworthy way to pay for low-cost services on their mobile phone.

The UK TMPF uses the “Payforit” Scheme to allow customers to make payments through their mobile phone bill, rather than using a credit card or bank account. The UK has established a “Payforit” logo and brand to assist with customer recognition and trust of the TMPF.

The TCF board has agreed to establish a lightweight agreement with the UK TMPF management group. The TMPF working party will now start finalising the agreement with the UK management group. The working party will also review the UK TMPF’s scheme rules, and will look at how it might adopt or adapt the Payforit logo and the UK TMPF website design.

Although the TCF board has agreed to adopt the UK framework, it will be up to individual telecommunications companies to develop the systems to enable consumers to purchase content via their mobile phones and for payments to be billed directly to their mobile phone bill.
